Welcome Parents

We know that finding the “right” camp, the best fit for your child, can be quite the undertaking with all the programs and opportunities available. To help you decide which program is best for your child, stop and think about what you really want your child to get out of the experience.

Most people’s first response is they want their child to be happy. While that is the quick and easy answer, we’re asking you to take a more in-depth look. What skills, knowledge, and abilities does your child need to possess in order to become a happier, more successful person? We recommend you use these answers to help you locate the summer program that would most benefit your child.

We feel it is vital to take advantage of the 'summer time' to help your child continue to learn and grow as a person. The right summer program should not only help your child maintain the gains made during the previous school year, but actually help them continue to grow and improve. This additional growth will position your child to become a more successful, happier person now and in the future.

Parental Involvement

Most Camp Buckskin parents have had to be much more involved in the lives of their children than other parents. The ongoing efforts to obtain appropriate services at school, the need to find a good doctor for medications, perhaps a psychologist for counseling, or tutors for academic remediation don’t just happen. Our parents have invested an extraordinary amount of time and effort to help their child become the best person they can be.
Our program is a supplement and resource for your child, but also for you as a parent. Parents need help reinforcing the lessons that they are trying to teach their child. Because of our unique environment we are able to more easily address many of these needs, especially when it comes to improving the ability to establish and maintain positive peer relationships. The program’s structure and consistency allow us to address each individual’s need areas. Campers learn how their attitudes and actions impact others … as well as themselves. As a result, our campers learn to become more responsible and self reliant.
As parents you know your child better than anyone on the planet. Similarly, we understand the capabilities of our program. To insure that we’re the right program, we need you to feel comfortable to talk with us about your child, and discuss any concerns that you may have. We don’t believe we’ve heard every question, but over the years we’ve heard a wide variety. As simple as it might sound, a concern can’t be addressed until it has been identified.
